If your gutters need to be replaced, then don’t put it off for long. The sooner you replace them, the better the chances are that you’ll prevent damage to your home in the form of leaks. However, don’t just toss those old gutters away. You can reuse gutters in the following ways:

Shelving – Cut a few sections from the gutter and  put them up on your garage wall to hold some of your smaller tools as well as odds and ends.

  • Picture ledge – Take a section of gutter and paint it to fit your interior design. Then use it to display family photographs, books, artwork and more.
  • Planters – You can cut a 12-inch section of your old gutter and simply add end caps to it to create a visually unique planter for your windowsill.
  • Protect your seedlings – To protect the seedlings you’ve planted during the fall, place pieces of gutter over where they are planted to protect them from the frost.

Don’t throw away your old gutter system once you replace it – you can reuse by using some of these ideas. For advice on how to prevent damage to your home, contact Parker Young today.
